History of USA

The United States has been inhabited for about 15,000 years. The first Native Americans migrated across a land bridge from Asia. Many prehistoric sites remain as evidence of these first Americans. The story of the Native Americans is a sad one in many ways, but exploring their culture is also a fascinating way to understand the history of this country.

The written history of the U.S. begins when Christopher Columbus found the New World in the late 15th century. By the mid-16th century, many countries had set their sights on colonizing the newly discovered land. The most successful initially was Spain, but, ultimately, of course, England was dominant. In 1776, the nascent United States declared its independence from England, which it won seven years later after a long war.

The country was torn apart in the 1860s by a brutal Civil War, fought over the travesty of slavery. The history of the Civil War provides an important insight into the American character. In the 20th century, the U.S. gradually rose to become the most powerful country in the world. The U.S. and its allies prevailed in two world wars, not the mention the Cold War with the Soviet Union, which defined the politics of the country in the last half of the century.

Why not hire a car in Usa to see the many sights from this country’s fascinating history. In the east, there are many battlefields and important sites related to the American Revolution and the Civil War. In the western part of the country are many Native American, Old West and Spanish spots that are fun, tragic, heart-rending and magnificent.

The geography of USA

In order to make the most out of your trip to America, you should know a bit about the basic geography of the land. The United States takes up the central part of the North American continent and is bounded by Canada to the north, Mexico and the Gulf of Mexico to the south, the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. A cheap car hire in Usa is a great way to experience the geographical variety here.

The country has two great mountain ranges — the Rockies in the west and the Appalachians in the east. If mountains aren’t your pleasure, then head to the many beaches. The best beaches are considered to be in Florida, along the Gulf of Mexico and in Southern California.

The vast interior of the country is characterized by the Great Plains, which are indeed flat in many areas, but are also characterized by beautiful rolling hills. The U.S. has many great rivers, including the Mighty Mississippi; both natural and manmade lakes of many sizes, including the Great Lakes, which are really a series of small interior seas; stark dry deserts in the West; and a wide choice of natural attractions that are based on geographic wonders.

The country’s geography provides many opportunities for hiking, biking, rafting, sailing, climbing and many other outdoor activities. Whatever your outdoor passion, you will find some of the best chances in the world, thanks to the widely varied geography of the United States.

Weather in USA

Because the U.S. is so large, its weather patterns are also widespread. When you hire a car in Usa, you’re going to want to know where you should go and what places will have the most welcoming weather. Some of the basics to know before travelling here are as follows:

The East Coast: The northeast coast is generally cooler and less humid that other spots in the east, and depending on where you go it can also be very rainy. During the winter, the Northeast can have heavy snow in some areas. Some of the country’s best skiing is in the northeast states of New England.

In the Southeast, the weather here is usually sunny, hot and a bit humid. While it’s not a rain forest, if you hate humidity, then this isn’t the place for you. If you want to travel to the South and avoid all the heat and humidity, then travel here from October to early December or from late February to April. You won’t see snow, and the weather will be just right for traveling when you hire a car in the United States.

The Midwest: The weather of the Midwest is a far cry from its humble geography. From tornados to incredible lightning storms and rain that goes on for days in some places, this area doesn’t have places called the Windy City and Tornado Alley for no reason. Temperatures can be quite hot in the summer, while the upper Midwest can have bitter cold and heavy snow in the winter.

The West: Temperatures in the west are highly variable. The west coast is temperate and rainy in the north and temperate and dry in the south. The highest mountains in the continental U.S. are in the west, and they have heavy snow and brutal storms in the winter. The great Mojave Desert is also in the western United States. Days are hot year-round, while nights are cooler. It is extremely dry, with some areas getting virtually no rain.

Alaska and Hawaii: These two states, not part of the continental U.S., are also two of the most popular destinations in the country. Alaska is ideal for traveling in the summer. It is generally cool, although the southern parts of the state can be very rainy. Unless you’re an adventure traveler, winters in Alaska are not typically appropriate for tourism.

Hawaii, on the other hand, is a tropical paradise. Temperatures hover around 80 degrees Fahrenheit year-round. There is frequent rain in many parts of the islands, but it is not usually long-lasting. You can travel comfortably in Hawaii any time of the year.
