Although threatened by European colonization, they managed to be the only southeast Asian state not to succumb to colonial order. After the abolition of absolute monarchy, Thailand went through 60 years of military rule. Now, the country is controlled by a House of Representatives, elected every 4 years. Buddhism is the main religion and this is reflected in the multitude of temples and shrines throughout Thailand.

However, it also contains the majority of the country’s less touched forest areas. Similarly, the south is composed of mountain ranges but without so much running water. Weather in Thailand
Thailand is generally described as having a savanna climate. However, the south and far eastern regions have a tropical monsoon clime. The best beach weather is from November to February, as the temperature is not too hot and there’s less rain to contend with. But, depending on where you plan to visit, the temperature can differ greatly. In the north, the hot season is from March to May, although during this time the heat can reach 104 degrees Fahrenheit in the northeast and center. The south, on the other hand, is more temperate due to its position by the equator, so you could hire car in Thailand and head in this direction if the weather gets too hot. From May until October it’s the rainy season. Although the weather is, obviously, wet, the temperature is cooler and the countryside is blooming. Then, from November to December the dry season sets in and, at night, the temperature can cause frosty conditions. This weather generally lasts longest in the northeast.
